digital multimeters question by John: What the rule of thumb for calibrating digital multimeters? Hmm, I asked a minute ago but the question was deleted. We are allowed to ask about the tools of the engineering trade here, are we not? I heard a rule describing the what type of meter is required when calibrating a multimeter... For instance, do I need to use a meter with 2x the accuracy to calibrate another meter? I know there's a "rule of thumb here," just need to be reminded what it is.
